The Brewery

The brewery is a 10 barrel brew length {Equivalent to 40 - 9 gallon casks , 1600 litres or 2880 pints.

The bespoke brewery has been built with quality and environmental issues at its foundation. Herdwick sheep’s wool insulation has been used to insulate the tanks. The burner has been built to maximise the heat utilisation and the heat exchanger has been picked to maximise the heat retention, thus reducing energy use. We have a commitment to minimise our environmental impact and are proud to have been awarded the Responsible Tourism Award by the Tourism and Conservation Partnership. We donate 50p from every tour, to the Tourism and Conservation Partnership. Our donation is jointly shared between the Climate Contribution Fund and Red Squirrel Conservation.

We have just been awarded the Bronze Award from Cumbria Business Environment Network {CBEN} and are now commit-ted to achieving our Silver and Gold Awards.
